What these are
Cookies and their close cousin, local storage, are small notes a website leaves in your browser so it can remember something between visits. On their own they are just text — a name, a value and a date. The question that matters is what they are used for.
Our approach
Because there are no accounts to sign into and no money to move, we need very little. We do not use cookies to follow you around the web, and we don’t run advertising trackers. What we keep is there to make the site behave sensibly for you.
What we actually keep
| Name | Kind | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| sbw_age_ok | Local storage | Remembers that you have confirmed you are 18+, so the age notice doesn’t reappear every visit. |
| sbw_prefs | Local storage | Holds small display preferences, such as reduced motion, when you set them. |
| Session & security | Cookie | Standard cookies your browser and our host may use to keep pages loading securely. |
None of these identify you personally, and none are sold or shared for advertising.
Anyone else
If we ever add a third-party tool — for example a privacy-respecting way to count visits so we can see which pages are read — we will list it here first and keep it to the minimum. As of this edition, no third-party marketing cookies are in use.
Managing them
You are always in control. Every major browser lets you view and delete cookies and local storage from its settings, and clearing your site data will remove our age-confirmation note. If you do that, you will simply be asked to confirm your age again next time.
Changes
Should our use of cookies change, we will update this notice with a fresh date. If anything here is unclear, ask us at support@summitbridgeworld.com.
